Higher-hardness variant of 2738, imported and stocked for tougher, longer-run mould production.
2738HH is the same nickel-alloyed base as standard 2738, but heat treated up into a higher hardness band before it leaves the mill. That extra hardness translates directly into longer tool life on the shop floor — the cavity holds its edge and surface finish through many more shots before it needs touching up.
We stock this alongside standard 2738 specifically for customers running higher-volume production moulds, or moulds moulding abrasive or glass-filled plastics where wear is the limiting factor rather than toughness. It still machines and polishes well for its hardness class, it's just less forgiving on tooling than the standard grade.
As with all our core grades, we hold 2738HH in large blocks and cut it to the size a customer needs on our own machines.
